I’d like to thank the academy…

Today I was nominated for the Liebster award, its super prestigious as only the five “best new blogs out there” can be nominates. Yeah, you could say I’m kind of a big deal. Ha, just joking! The Liebster award is an award that is passed from blogger to blogger in order to help readers find new things to read and connect to other bloggers. If you become nominated for the Liebster award you answer 11 questions from the nominating blogger, come up with 11 new questions and nominate 11 new bloggers to answer them. How cool?!

Thank you so much to Elaine from The Peterson Family Travels for the nomination! And now here are your answers:

If you had to be stranded in one city for 5 years, where would you want it to be and why?

London! It may sound silly, but London has been my dream city for years! The culture, the history, the people! I could definitely keep myself occupied for 5 years in London.

What are 3 things you can always find in your carry-on bag?

Headphones, kindle, snacks. Super boring, I know, but they are my staples when traveling. Headphones: for obvious reasons, kindle: so I can take as many books as I like, and snacks: because 1) I get hungry and 2) its a great way to make friends on the flight!

What is your most memorable travel experience?

The first thing that jumps in my mind is zip lining in Costa Rica. It was one of the most terrifying yet amazing moments of my life! As someone who’s afraid of heights, I almost couldn’t bring myself to jump off the mountain, I actually had to have someone push me! Once the adrenaline kicked in and I saw the magnificent views, I knew it had been worth the heart attack.

Do you have any favorite bloggers that inspire you?

Ok, totally cliche answer, but all bloggers inspire me in some way. I’ve added tons of destinations to my to-do list because of what people have written about them

If you’re looking for a specific person, that would be Lisa of Little Miss Trainwreck. She is such an amazing person and is always a beacon of positivity and love regardless of what she’s going through.

How long have you been blogging and what inspired you to start?

I’ve only been blogging since December of 2015. I was inspired to start because later this year I am planning on going on a huge trip and I wanted a way to stay connected to my family while sharing my story and experiences.

Why do you travel?

Why not travel? The world is full of so many stories to be shared, but you’ll never hear them all staying at home.

What country have you visited has the best food in your opinion?

Israel! Man I have dreams of some that food, although I may be biased because most of my go-to comfort food is street food over there. Mmm, just thinking about it makes me hungry! I’ll be dreaming of borekas tonight!

If you had to choose one, would you pick going on an African Safari, Alaskan Cruise or Island hopping in Hawaii?

This is tough. I’d probably pick the African Safari, its been on my to-do list forever! And while I’d love to go to Alaska and Hawaii, I’d want a more personalized experience.

Do you have any embarrassing traveling moments? If so, explain.

I think everyone who travels has embarrassing stories, its inevitable. I mean there’s all those times you think you’re speaking the language correctly and someone tells you you’re totally not (except usually they’re laughing at you and that’s how you find out) or getting sick from extreme changes in diet. And lets not even mention the time I drooled all over a complete stranger because I fell asleep on him on a plane. He was super nice about it, but still, just the memory hurts.

What is your next trip planned?

Next trip will be Israel, Europe (haven’t chosen where specifically but likely the U.K., Italy, Germany, and probably France), and Canada from April until probably September!

I nominate:

Your questions are:

  1. What inspired you blog name?
  2. If you could only revisit one country which would you visit and why?
  3. Why did you start blogging?
  4. What is one piece of crazy travel advice you give to anyone who will listen?
  5. Do you do something unique or crazy while taking touristy pictures?
  6. What is one thing you can’t leave home without?
  7. Favorite vacation moment?
  8. How do you stay connected to home while you’re running around the world?
  9. Do you collect any souvenirs?
  10. Are there popular attractions that just don’t interest you? Do you feel like you’re missing something when you skip these?
  11. Tell me where you are now and where you’re going next!

I love reading your posts. It seemed you are growing as a writter with each post. Now to find your fifth grade teacher and show her, she would be so proud.
